Newly opened in April 2021 the Maali Thai restaurant is the latest Asian eatery to open in the city.

The address was home to a various newsagents for several decades, the last one closing in 2019. Harun’s barber shop is the latest barber to open in the city.

A newsagent has been at the town end of Bird Street for several decades with different names, Stars, Cadbury News and Lichfield Local. The newsagent was wound up voluntarily and went into liquidation in September 2019.

One of only a couple of fishmongers in the city the shop on Bird Street remained open until the 1970’s. Now the location of Kiss XX bridal wear.

This general store sat on the corner of Bird Street and Sandford Street for many years. First seen on a postcard from around 1910. The corner was redeveloped in the 1960/70’s and discount store opened.

The right-hand side of Bird Street has changed very little in over one hundred years. The stonework on the building on the right along with the woodwork across the windows and doorway is still the same today
